YOUTH STORIES: Iheb Nsibi and Ahmed Karbia - VTC Sousse

Workforce development / Articles / 27-04-2023

We are Iheb Nsibi and Mohamed Karbia, culinary students at the Northern Sousse Hospitality Management School, where we are pursuing our passion for culinary arts. Coming from families with a background in catering, we chose to further our skills in this field by enrolling in culinary training. The training has been immensely beneficial to us, helping us hone our culinary skills and gain a nationally-accredited certificate that will open the door to prestigious job opportunities.

One of the aspects we appreciate the most about our training is the small class sizes, which allow for personalized attention and interaction with our instructors. The courses offered are versatile, covering a wide range of culinary techniques, and the instructors are extremely high quality, providing us with mentorship and guidance as we navigate our coursework and internships.

Additionally, the online training modules have been a valuable asset. We can access these modules, which include engaging videos that explain new training concepts, on our computers or smartphones, allowing us to learn at our own pace and easily manage our busy schedules. These online modules are also beneficial for students in remote areas who may not have access to on-site training. Even after graduating from the program, we plan to continue referring back to these training modules to further develop our skills and knowledge

*The online tourism training modules are part of a pilot project with the National Center for Training of Trainers and Training Engineering (CENAFFIF). Through the project, JOBS helped CENAFFIF develop 14 online course modules in four high-demand sectors – agriculture, textile, electromechanics, and tourism.
