Sami Ben Mansour is the manager of Yousstex Group, a family-owned group of two textile companies, Yousstex International and Yousstex Wash, based in Touza, Monastir. The group specializes in manufacturing garments and finishes denim products with a current production capacity of 800,000 units a year and a total of 500 employees.

Sami holds a master’s degree in fashion management from the international Instituto Marangoni based in Italy and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Cass Business School in London. During his studies, he learned that the denim industry is the second most environmentally polluting industry (after the oil-production industry), using more than 90 liters of water on average to produce one pair of jeans. This knowledge pushed him to introduce more environmentally friendly processes at Yousstex. After three years of experience in the textile field, Sami took over Yousstex’s management from his father, Habib Ben Mansour, who launched Yousstex in 2013 after many years of experience working with several prestigious customers from the most renowned European denim brands.

Under Sami’s leadership, Yousstex is undergoing strategic shifts to modernize its equipment, streamline its processes, and supply more eco-friendly products to its clients. As the textile industry grows more competitive, Yousstex needs to comply with international standards and practices, improve its production efficiency, and further reduce its environmental footprint. As part of this shift, Yousstex has established an eco-friendly laundry and started recycling up to 95% of the water it uses in the production process. With Mud Jeans, a major Dutch client, Yousstex uses 40% post-consumer recycled denim – and thus significantly reduced its use of harsh chemicals - through an innovative jean-leasing program.

To continue its growth trajectory, Yousstex needed to improve its production efficiency and work conditions for employees. In 2022, JOBS partnered with Yousstex to implement an integrated management system for quality, environment, workplace safety, and social accountability to boost the group’s growth.

Thanks to JOBS’ assistance, the company has hired 268 employees and expects to significantly increase its sales by the end of 2023.
