Haythem Ben Abdessalem is the general manager of Fracama, a manufacturing company in El Mghira, Ben Arous that specializes in producing auto accessories, such as headrests and gear levers.

Mr. Ben Abdessalem graduated from the Naval Academy of Menzel Bourguiba in 2005, earning the rank of mechanic officer. After spending two years in the navy, he moved to the automotive industry, putting his mechanical skills to use for major firms such as Draxelmaier, Kromberg & Schubert, and Yazaki. He quickly moved up the ranks in the industry, working as a technical director and then an operational manager.

In 2019, Mr. Abdessalem joined Fracama as general manager. He was tasked with using his automotive expertise to establish a clear, consistent growth strategy for the firm.

Mr. Abdesslem quickly made progress, restructuring the company’s management and operational teams to increase efficiency. However, he still needed to reorganize the company’s inefficient production chain, which had led to bottlenecks and long lead times.

JOBS worked with Fracama to implement a lean-manufacturing program to optimize its production costs and improve its operational performance. At the same time, the company invested in new sewing machines to boost its manufacturing capacity.

As a result of this assistance, the company increased its revenues by more than 50% and created 158 jobs. Now, it plans to expand its capacity even more to enter the French market and create an additional 100 jobs by the end of 2023.
